every places has it own tradition in celebrating eid mubarak or idul fitri as indonesian people called it. moslems born from different and various traditions, thus, experience different tradition of eid mubarak celebration. moslems in sulawesi island might have big feast in the first day of celebration, but moslems in east java is having their big feast on the fifth or seven day of eid mubarak. when we are living far from the hometown, the food and atmosphere of ramadhan and eid mubarak will be missed most. moslems of indonesia, for example, willing to travel far far away..long long hours from an island in the west of sumatra to an island of sulawesi just to be able to spent a meaningful moment and joy of eid mubarak with their family, in their hometown. why? it takes lots of money to travel, it takes time for the trip.. because nothing can give the same atmosphere of celebrating eid mubarak like in hometown. it is priceless. so, buddy, if you are still able to go home for eid mubarak, just go home to smell the air, remember the memory of eid mubarak tradition and actually, experiencing it again! what a lovely thing!
happy eid mubarak!!
